There’s something about a light breeze and the sun’s golden rays that makes me want to escape for some time alone with my husband.  Yet last summer, on a much needed break from the kids, we sat in the parking lot of Wal-Mart desperate for something to do together.  Embarrassingly, we ended up searching Pinterest for some fun warm weather date nights before we finally settled on our activity of choice.

However, spending quality time together doesn’t have to be difficult or cost a ton of money.  May this list of creative date nights help you reconnect whether you’re staying at home or having a night on the town.

Free or frugal date nights

1. Have a picnic in the backyard or a nearby park
2. Go for a hike
3. Sit by the pool for an afternoon without kids (even if it’s the kiddie pool in your own backyard!)
